Warm Days, Cozy Evenings
February invites you to enjoy warm, dry days and crisp, cool evenings in Oaxaca. Expect daytime temperatures in the upper 70s°F (around 25°C), with nights dipping into the upper 40s°F (around 8°C). Pack light layers for exploring and a sweater or two for early mornings and evenings out.
Retreat House in Colorful Jalatlaco
Our six-bedroom retreat house is nestled in Jalatlaco, one of Oaxaca City's oldest and most charming neighborhoods, just a 10- to 15-minute walk from the lively historic center.
Here, the pace slows. Neighbors chat on street corners, colorful homes line cobblestone streets, and colonial architecture lends a sense of history to everyday life. The neighborhood's residential feel offers a welcome retreat from the bustle while keeping you close to the city's sights, markets, and restaurants.
Art is part of the scenery. As you wander, discover vibrant murals celebrating Indigenous heritage and imagery inspired by Día de los Muertos. It's a neighborhood made for leisurely strolls, small discoveries, and soaking in the beauty of Oaxaca.

Your Host
Singer Mayberry is a yoga teacher and the founder of The Art of Yoga School®. She has more than a decade of teaching experience, holds an E-RYT500 credential from Yoga Alliance, and has completed over 800 hours of training in yoga and Ayurvedic studies. She also holds a Fine Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
Singer teaches a mix of Restorative, Hatha, and Yin Yoga. Her classes are known for thoughtful details — curated playlists, essential oils, and occasional sage — that help students settle in and focus.
Hosting over 30 International Yoga Retreats, this will be her third group to bring to Oaxaca in the last 4 years. She has host retreats in Peru, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, the USA, and heads to Europe for her first Croatia Retreat in September of 2027.
Day 2: Find Your Rhythm
A leisurely morning, nourishing movement, and an introduction to Oaxaca's flavors.
6:30-7:30 AM | Early-riser coffee & breakfast. Enjoy a quiet start at the house.
8:00 AM | Cafe wandering. Venture out solo or with new friends to find a local cafe. Savor a pastry, people-watch, and enjoy the cool morning air.
10:30 AM | Yin/Flow Yoga with Singer at the house. Balance movement and stillness in a practice that leaves you refreshed for the day ahead.
12:30 PM | Market Tour & Lunch with Singer. Explore the market together, taking in its colors, aromas, and flavors before sharing lunch.
2:00 PM onward | Follow your curiosity. Spend the afternoon exploring, shopping, or enjoying a well-earned rest.
Day 3: Savor & Restore
Make space for whatever feels most nourishing.
6:30-7:30 AM | Early-riser coffee & breakfast. Ease into the day at the house.
8:00 AM | Your morning cafe ritual. Return to a favorite spot or discover somewhere new, on your own or in good company.
10:30 AM | Yin/Flow Yoga with Singer at the house. Reconnect with your breath and body before an open afternoon.
After yoga, the day is yours. Book a mezcal or mole tasting, unwind with a massage at Singer's recommended MAE Massage, or wander through the city's sights and shops. There's no need to fit everything in; choose what calls to you.
Day 4: Explore a Little Deeper
Revisit a favorite corner of Oaxaca or let the day take you somewhere new.
6:30-7:30 AM | Early-riser coffee & breakfast. Enjoy another unhurried morning.
8:00 AM | Coffee & a stroll. Head out for a cafe stop and a little everyday Oaxaca.
10:30 AM | Yin/Flow Yoga with Singer at the house. Find a balance of energy and ease for your final full day.
After yoga, explore at your own pace. Book a tour, linger over lunch, return to a favorite park, or pick up something special to bring home. Leave room for the small discoveries that make a trip memorable.
Day 5: A Gentle Farewell
One last practice, one more breakfast, and a little of that retreat feeling to take home.
6:30-7:30 AM | Early-riser coffee & breakfast. Enjoy a quiet moment before the day's closing practice.
8:00-9:00 AM | Yin/Flow Yoga with Singer at the house. Close our time together with an hour of mindful movement and stillness.
After yoga | Breakfast nearby. Savor a final meal in Oaxaca before packing up.
11:00 AM | House checkout. Depart with memories, new connections, and space to breathe.
Evenings: Good Food & Meaningful Connection
On Days 2, 3, and 4, Singer will arrange dinner reservations and host a different small group each evening, typically three to four guests joining her. The groups will rotate so everyone has time to share a meal and connect with Singer in a more personal setting.
On your other evenings, enjoy the freedom to dine independently or make plans with fellow retreat guests. Smaller tables create space for relaxed conversation and a more intimate dining experience, while giving you the chance to explore Oaxaca's food scene your own way.
