Your HOST:

Singer Mayberry is a yoga teacher and the founder of The Art of Yoga School®. She has more than a decade of teaching experience, holds an E-RYT500 credential from Yoga Alliance, and has completed over 800 hours of training in yoga and Ayurvedic studies. She also holds a Fine Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin.

Singer teaches a mix of Restorative, Hatha, and Yin Yoga. Her classes are known for thoughtful details — curated playlists, essential oils, and occasional sage — that help students settle in and focus.

From 2010 to 2017, she owned Black Lagoon, an art gallery in Austin that she converted into a yoga studio. It grew into a busy neighborhood spot with more than twenty weekly classes and a team of local teachers. That experience led her to start The Art of Yoga School® in 2016.

Singer has led more than forty yoga retreats in Nicaragua, Guatemala, Peru, Mexico, Santa Fe, West Texas, and other locations. The retreats combine yoga practice with travel, group activities, and time to explore.

As director of The Art of Yoga School®, Singer runs 200- and 300-hour Yoga Teacher Trainings out of a private studio in Central Austin. The program focuses on teaching skills, personal practice, and helping trainees develop their own voice as instructors. Since 2016, the school has hosted over forty retreats and trained yoga teachers in an in-person, small-group setting.
